Katrina

What would happen if you had an evacuation and nobody wanted to go with you?

I think they needed to offer some free beer and Packers tickets...

On a more serious note, please do visit the Red Cross web site and make a donation to the relief efforts if you can afford to.

Not too far from you (in Eau Claire, WI) we had a bit more luck helping out Katrina's victims. If you're interested...

I'll check out your log, and I didn't mean to seem like I was being insensitive. I had just been really down about Katrina and this was the first article I saw that brought a smile to my face. Anyway, glad your evacuation effort went better than ours did.

I would also like to point out that the Eau Claire effort seemed to be primarily about driving a bus down full of food donations, not evacuating people. The thing that struck me as amusing was that, in the article I referenced, none of the evacuees wanted to leave for Wisconsin. It's a Wisconsin joke, not a Katrina victim joke, and I hope people can see it that way. If they don't, I'm sorry.

Oh!! I didn't mean to prove you wrong or anything like that.

I'd been thinking about the article you posted and how sad it all seemed. We just last night recieved the travel log I linked to, and I thought since it had such a "happy" ending (as happy as is possible given the circumstances), that you may enjoy hearing about our small success on this side of the state. There was mostly pride behind my comment. I apologize if I came across otherwise.

btw-- :) I certainly enjoy a good WI joke, and I did appreciate a bit of humor being injected into an overwhelmingly horrible situation.

Thanks for letting me add my 2 cents!
